Studio won't display texts/iMessages

Mac Studio, MacOS 14.7 - iPhone 15. 17.7. I used to get a simultaneous display of incoming text/iMessage on both devices. Abruptly the Studio has lost that connection. I am unaware of any settings changed on my part. A careful review of all setting on both the phone and the computer hasn't offered any solution. Given eyesight and digit problems, I really can't type on the phone so must use the computer keyboard.

Just had a thought. I recently allowed the iPhone 17.7 iOS update. Can't say for sure but this may have started after that update?

Note: Is anyone else noticing an increase in Apple OS's doing abrupt/new/changed settings w/o notice?

Not on 3 computers that were running Sonoma 14.7 and iPhone running iOS 17.7.1

Still no issues after upgrading the 3 computers to macOS 15.1 Sequoia and iPhone to iOS 18.1

You may try revisiting the iPhone setting for SMS / MMC Text Forwarding

Especially step 3 >> Tap to turn on each device that you want to allow to send and receive messages from this iPhone.

Thank you much. That solved the problem. Wasn't even aware of that setting. I know I'd never done anything with it, so back to the question. Has anyone noticed a significant increase in Apple 'tinkering, improving, helping' us without permission or notification? Given that I have a phone and a desktop, things should be fairly straight forward. Still, I see an increasing number of weirdness happening that affecys my ability use MY tools. Is this an example of Apple's Intelligence?
