MacBook Pro reports after disk utility lists broken seal

My MBP reports after diskutil apfs list: APFS Volume Disk (Role):   disk1s5 (System)

Name:                      APPLE SSD           SM 768 GB -E (Case-insensitive)

        Mount Point:               Not Mounted

        Capacity Consumed:         15324397568 B (15.3 GB)

        Sealed:                    Broken

        FileVault:                 No

What to do? Does anyone have experience with this?

I have clean reinstalled 11.7.10 Big Sur (that is the last eligible update)but the seal is still reported as broken.

It does not affect the performance.

But lately there are some crashes.

To stay, specific On Topic >> Sealed Key Protection (SKP)

Linear thinking, as Apple is the one who has Sealed and Encrypted the Operating System in that Volume

Once the Seal and Encryption is Broken, then only Apple can possible Fix that which has become broken

( UnSealed )

How that is done, well that solution has been provided

That remark doen't help bc I knew what I was talking about and it was mentioned in the previous mail.

But that is not my point.

The point is that even after a clean install the diskutil reported that the seal of the system file was broken.

But as it doesn't affect the performance, it seems not a big issue.

Therefore I asked the Community if any person could advise.

I also have no idea what has broken the seal, so that's another question.

I don't need common remarks as reinstall or how old was the macOS installer or d/l a new version, because that is all done and checked.

Summarizing:

  1. is it possible to repair the broken seal by reinstalling or whatever method?.
  2. what could be the cause of the broken seal?

Thanks André

I know where to find the operating system and the read-only protection, that’s no secret.

The mba is eligible to run macOS 11.7.10 Big Sur. At first I did an upgrade from Catalina to install Big Sur but the second time I did a clean install and the result is still the same, a broken seal is reported. It does, however, not affect the performance. Therefore I don’t worry too much about it. Tough, I want it fixed. Could any one please advise how to fix it?
