Do you have FileVault or iPhone Mirroring enabled. There may be a setting in iPhone Mirroring to turn it off, but you may have to disable it altogether.
If you have a managed system, the entity managing your system may have disabled that feature.
My company does remote management on the company Macs, and they install a System Settings -> Privacy & Security -> Profiles entry to disable my ability to disable "Require Password".
Maybe you have a similar Profile installed.
Barney, I have recently tried iPhone mirroring (without finding any useful benefits) and, as I do not believe in coincidence, believe you are on to something. Can’t think of a reason to not disable it; will do so and hope to eliminate this featu…, uh, annoyance.
