How Do I Listen In On Homepod Alarm Alert

The Homepod(s) are 90 miles away. I got a notification on my watch that some alarm is going off, but it said to click something on my phone, and I was walking the dog and did not have a phone with me.

Now, back at my desk, I can't find the alert to click on. Can't even find the notification on my watch.

What's the trick to tapping into that Homepod 90 miles away to hear what it is complaining about?

I do have an exterior camera up there, so at least I know the house is not burning down.

If your smoke alarm warns of CO2, it could be that and not visible on camera. Only dangerous if you’ve left pets or humans in there. When you return home, open all the doors and windows to vent for half a hour or so before entering. Or you may just have poor air quality in the home. This is possible if you live near wildfire smoke that’s seeping in.

This isn’t really a feature I’ve used except when I set it up and used YouTube video smoke alarm sounds to test if it worked. It did and I got a notification my HomePod heard an alarm.

Once you viewed the notification it’s understood you’ve seen it and so it won’t appear again unless you get a new one. HomePod only knows it heard a sound that strongly resembled smoke alarms. It can’t determine anything else.
