Apple TV on iPhone forcing Disney+ use

If you use Search inside the Apple TV app, then a movie title may be shown with details and links to any of the available content providers that offer this (as far as supported by Search). On a movie’s Details page, scroll down to How to Watch to see all options, if you disagree with the default option at the top.

If you use your Library inside the Apple TV app to access a movie title, then that would apply to the Store version.

If by “own” you mean something different than a buy title through Apple’s iTunes Store, then your Apple TV App Library on iPhone wouldn’t reflect that.

Note that movie purchases from the Store are linked to a specific Apple Account. iPhones registered with a different Apple Account wouldn’t be able to access that.

If you changed your Apple Account country or country-like region, then purchases from the former country may not be available anymore while your account has that setting. Store catalogs are regional.

You don't own them, you owned the rights to watch them on your phone. If Apple sold those rights to Disney, then you will have to pay Disney now.

Where are you selecting the film, in the TV app?

Do you see the film in your library under movies?

Are you selecting "open in" under the title?

This doesn’t work on the Iphone. The movie will no longer show in your library. When you search it, it will ask you to purchase again. If you try to purchase again, it says you already own it and will give you a print to download. It will however not download.

Just sends you in a loop and will not allow the movie to play without the Disney App.

And I can’t stand Disney!!!!!!
