Issue with GST Invoice on Apple India Website: Need Assistance!

I'm trying to buy an iPhone 16 from the Apple India website, but I'm facing an issue with obtaining a GST invoice. Even though the delivery is in the same state where my GSTIN was issued, I keep getting an error on the payment screen.

After entering my card information, I select the type of invoice as "Business" and add my GST details. However, I get this message:

"Shipping and billing addresses must be in the same state, which must match your GSTIN-registered state. Make sure the details you entered match, or select Consumer Invoice instead."

Has anyone else encountered this issue and found a solution? I’d appreciate any advice!

Thank you!

Yep I faced this same issue but managed to resolve it.

I actually came to your thread first and saw that there was no solution here, nor was there any solution anywhere else. Then I thought about how particular Apple is about perfectionism and this was no small oversight. So I figured I must be making some mistake somewhere.

I went and first removed any pre-existing payment method in my apple account. The new payment method that I added, I ensured my billing address was the same as the one my GSTIN is registered on.

Next, I ensured I was signed in to the website with the same Apple ID when I added a MacBook Pro 16" to the cart. On the final payment page, the mistake I was making was this -- to check if the GST is being accepted or not, I was entering my GST number into that box first, without first having selected a payment method on top. That was my crucial mistake.

The moment I selected a payment method, it prompted me to fill in a billing address, and I filled in the address that I knew my GSTIN was registered with. Then I entered my GST number into the box and voila! It worked just fine. It opened a box that confirmed with me whether my registered business name was correct, and when I gave it that confirmation, it took me straight to the final payment page.

I hope this works for you. It's usually some small error that we make somewhere. Thoroughly check and it should work.
