I am trying to import into my itunes the music i got on to MP3 from my audio cassettes. Like stuff from late 80's. I can't drag and drop them in. How do I import my music into itunes (Apple Music App: 1.5.0.174)

Nope, I don't want to import music and have it managed. I have it in a separate location. I just simply want to drag-and-drop it into a Root -> "MyAwesomeFolder" -> "MyAwesomePlayList" and this doesn't work. However, if I have a playlist on root Root-> "MyAwesomePlayList" I CAN drag and drop. IDK sounds like a strange bug. itunes has always been obtuse.
Have you tried Music->File->Import...
