Apple Pay not working

I take the bus to college everyday. I use a tap card on my phone wallet. I have a student pass, which lets me in for free, but out of nowhere it stopped working. I thought my student pass had expired or something (even though it was still active) so I made another tap card with money on it, and it still didn’t work. My credit card didn’t work too. Although no card was ever denied or resulted on a message saying I had insufficient funds in the reader, it just didn’t scan, or pickup my phone’s wallet. Before anyone says anything I’ve tried with no cover, in every possible position, the reader doesn’t recognize. Is my phone Apple wallet suddenly broken??
