Set Up Apple Cash

Attempted to sign into Apple Cash but received error saying my two factor ID isn't on but I check and it is.

I have an Iphone 8 and the only available IOS update is 16.7.10

I am also living and working in Okinawa, Japan if the location matters.


  • Turned two factor on/off
  • Hard reset my phone
  • Signed out/in from apple account
  • Tried to update Apple ID settings but I keep getting the loading icon and progress will stop. Wifi is being used and phone is connected to charger for all attempts to sign in/out


Weirdly enough, people are able to send me money despite me not being signed in.


If there are other methods I am not trying please let me know.

I suspect it’s because of your location. People can send you funds, because you have a valid Apple Account (formerly Apple ID). Apple Cash is a service that’s administered by Green Dot Bank. Contact an Apple Cash Specialist at Green Dot Bank by calling (877)-233-8552 or by calling 1-800-MY-APPLE
