Can I recover my missing iTunes library on a new iMac?

YEARS ago, I uploaded all of my CDs to iTunes on my iMac. I am now on my 3rd iMac and I am sharing music with my husband. Somehow, my Music library has disappeared (only the uploaded CDs, not the purchased ones). They exist, however, on my husband's iMac. Can I download my albums back onto my phone from his iMac? Should I just sync with his Music? Can I do that?

"I have since checked my old iPhone, and it has all of the music on it! From what I understand, it is impossible to upload music from an iPhone to an iMac? Does anybody have any ideas?"

You need to download it, manually. As for transferring from an old iPhone to a new iPhone, that you may be an option to do through use of Quick Start: Use Quick Start to Transfer Data to a new iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

From what you've said it sounds like you were successful with option 1. Option 2 wouldn't work. An Apple Music subscription can copy what you have on your phone to your computer, but iTunes Match doesn't include that feature, although it can be used to sync the library on one computer to multiple computers and devices.

I went to the Apple Store and talked to an Expert. He suggested:

1) that I erase my new iPhone (saving the eSim, of course) and use my OLD iPhone to re-populate the new one. I did that and the music appeared in the Music app! Yay!

2) Alternatively, he suggested that I use iTunes Match. He said that I turn it on in Music and that it costs $20. It is true that it will do that and sync it across all your devices. The thing that makes me nervous is that it might sync what is on my iMac across all of my devices!

now I dint know what to do.
