I just updated my mac to Sequoia 15.0.1

I have an external superdrive I bought with the mac. Trying to upload a CD to Music. I insert the CD. It spins. The track list shows up in Music with the question,"Would you like to import the CD “<CD title>” into your music library?". I click "yes". The first track spins. The I get the message "Error occurred while converting "<track 2 song title>". The required file cannot be found." I click "OK". Then the ENTIRE drive disappears. The mac cannot see it anymore, so I can't even eject the disc.

ATTEMPTED RESOLUTIONS

I unplugged the drive from the port and plugged it back in. Music sees the drive and the process can start over again. When I check the "Recently Added" area, I can see that the first track has uploaded SO, I uncheck that track and try to import the remaining. The second track uploads (I can see it in Recently added) and then I get the error message again. I repeat this with the third, the fourth, the fifth, etc. tracks and the same thiing happens.

I have also tried shutting the mac down completely and restarting.

I have tried plugging the drive into a different port.

Nothing has solved my issue.

Please help.
