checked connections
restarted
unplugged for 30 minutes and started back up

Thanks for your help! I was able to find it this morning in the Disk Utility under the name of another thumb drive, not sure how that happened but I was able to erase it and resave the needed information and it seems to working as usual now. Thanks again for your time and efforts in helping me.
A drive that will not provide is make&Model and a reasonable non-zero size/capacity is no longer in working condition, and can not be repaired or used for any purpose. That is the definition of "died".
Are you able to test that thumb drive on another system to confirm that it's still working and hasn't just failed?
Yes it works on my other computer and I plugged it into an employees studio and it worked. I did get a new drive to work for a few minutes but it also now isn’t even recognized by my computer.
Does the drive appear if you launch Disk Utility and look there?
No I can’t find it anywhere. I’ve tried to follow the suggestions I found online but to no avail.
