screen mirroring iphone to mac with quicktime

Hi All,

I'm using Quicktime - record a movie function - to display my iphone screen to Mac so I can share the same through video conferencing.

It has been working so far, but now the iphone screen is not coming up any more in the quicktime selection.

Camera and iphone camera and mic are there.

devices are:

iPhone 14 iOS 17.6.1

Mac Pro M1 Sonoma 14.5

the two are connected through lightning cable.

thanks for your suggestions

iPhone 14, iOS 17

The way it works for me:

  1. Open QuickTime Player.
  2. File﹥New Movie Recording (⌥⌘N)
  3. Go to the small ⋎ downward arrow next to the red record button. It would act as a drop-down menu.
  4. You can set the Screen to iPhone.
  5. You can optionally set the Microphone or Speaker to iPhone.
  6. That will show a live feed of the iPhone screen onto the Mac screen.

If you mean to record yourself through the camera, then set Camera (and Microphone) instead.

Not sure how that would integrate with video conferencing? My MBP has an integrated camera for that.
