Mac Mini System Data at 276GB?

Hi! My Mac Mini has a 512GB SSD. When I look at the space available it says i have 494.38GB of space available, but 276GB has been taken up by "System Data"? That's over half the space!! How do I reduce this?

I am running Dropbox and have selective sync turned on, but when I look at the Dropbox stats it says it's only using 60GB of Dropbox space, and then 388GB is "Other hard drive space used"

Thoughts??

Same issue for me with System Data taking ~50% of my HD (116 gb), prompting a notification that my disc was full. I tried every remedy suggested on the Community. I spent an hour on phone with Apple Support yesterday. They guided me through steps to assess content the actual content in my System Data and determined that it is at least 60 gb less than what is reported in System Data. They think it is some bug in Sonoma (carried over to Sequoia) that makes Mac think System Data content is larger than what it actually is. They had no idea when/if a bug fix was coming with an update. They recommended 'nuclear option' erasing HD, reinstalling Sequoia, and restoring from my external back-up, although they said it's possible the bug is in the back-up. I think I'll postpone as long as possible but System Data is increasing by a few gb every week. Any luck solving this?
