cant get update for imovie for big sur 11.7.10

i had imovie on my macbook but when i updated it to big sur 11.7.10 imovie is greyed out and wont open.....it says to go to app store to update but app store says it needs a mac 13 to open imovie........i need to maybe take my macbook back to the way it was before big sur.

anyone else in this situation?

Hi,


Try the following procedure to obtain the highest version of iMovie that your operating system will run:


To update/redownload iMovie 10, drag your iMovie 10 app from the Applications folder into the trash, but do not empty the trash. Sign in to the app store and open your purchases folder by clicking on your name at the bottom of the app store side bar. You will see your purchases displayed, including iMovie 10. Redownload/update

iMovie from there. That should be successful but, if not, drag your present iMovie app out of the trash and return it to the Applications folder.
