iOS 18, Photos app, no dark mode?

While editing a photo, under (…), “Appearance” lets you choose a light or dark background for editing, independently of the system light/dark mode. Either the option was just added, or I wasn’t able to find it till now. I found this question while trying to look it up myself.

I don't see one.

Apple's iPhone User Guide says: "If your iPhone isn’t working as expected, you can try restarting it by turning it off, then turning it back on. If turning it off and on doesn’t fix the issue, try forcing it to restart.":

HeLiBN ~ Try turning off Dark Mode, closing Photos app and then forcing iPhone to restart:

...Then turn on Dark Mode and open Photos app. But if still no luck:

For iOS 18.1 iPhone 11, same problem happened, and restart do not fix.
