How to restore a music recognition app in AW?

I deleted Music recognition app in AW since there was also Shazam app. It is still available in the phone but I cannot find a way to restore the app in my watch. Please help me since the AW app was very useful.

Hi Juha36,

I was able to find and re-add the app needed to fix this issue. The app you probably deleted, but need for Shazam to work on your watch is called “Shazam Music Recognition”; here’s the link -Shazam Music Recognition. But, it’ll only download on your watch.

To add it to your watch:

  1. open the App Store app on your watch
  2. type Shazam Music Recognition into search
  3. download it; since you deleted it, it’ll likely have the iCloud redownload icon
  4. make sure you have Shazam installed on your watch and set to “show app on Apple Watch” in settings
  5. you should be all set and the Shazam app should now work as usual

I found you now need to have both this recognition and the Shazam apps on your watch for Shazam to work. On your watch, the blue Shazam icon will work normally when you have the recognition app, which is the Shazam logo icon but it’ll look greyed out, installed as well.

Hope that’ll fix the issue for you, too.
