I had a similar issue happen with my AirPods Pro 2 as well, but towards the end of October, approximately around the time of the iOS 18.1 release (and the 7B19 firmware update). In my situation, the case stopped charging wirelessly. I noticed it stopped making the "ding" sound it usually did when placing on the wireless charger. It did charge through a USB-C cable with no issue, making the "ding" sound as it should. This went on for about two weeks and I was ready to take it to the Apple Store to get it replaced as all troubleshooting had failed including a call to Apple Support. Then suddenly this morning it started working again. Oddly a new firmware update came out yesterday (7B21), although my AirPods had not yet received the update. So who knows what was going on but at least they are wirelessly charging again and updated with the newest firmware.
The only other thing that was different was that I left my AirPods in my car overnight, which I've never done before. They were pretty cold when I grabbed them today so possibly the cold somehow affected the AirPods to the point where they somehow "reset" in a way that a normal reset didn't do? Stranger things have happened.
