Apple wallet 2 lost

I regularly misplace my wallet it always pops up after some days. But now it takes a while so I wanted to use the advertised find my feature. I read that it is not possible to see the last location if 24h have passed. What possibilities do I have to extend this deadline / find the history? It is usually several days before I even notice it is lost. What is the reason you hide the location after one day? Thanks
