In System Settings > General > Storage is says I have 247 GB of Documents In Finder > Documents > Get Info it says 5.4 GB where are the other 421.6 GB of documents

The Find hidden documents of Shift Command and (period assumes you know which folder they are hidden

Which is useless

The System Settings Storage display shows files by type, not by location. So any "document" anywhere on your computer is included in the 247 GB.


You would need to use a 3rd party storage tool to see where files are stored. Just be careful with those things. They show everything, including locations that you shouldn't be digging around inside. If it's a location where you normally store your files, then you can safely delete those. But be careful for other location, especially "Library" folders.
