Logging into 2017 iMac with external startup SSD crashes and then stabilizes
I'm using a 1TB ssd as my boot disk to speed up performance on a 2017 iMac. I'm using a WD Black SN770 NVMe SSD enclosed in a fan cooled Orico M.2 enclosure. Running Ventura 13.7.
When I first boot up, things work fine for about 30 sec, and then I get a hard crash that requires a power button restart. After that, things seem to work fine. Console gives me this crash report:

Any ideas as to what might be going on?
I haven't tried a safe boot yet to see if that changes things.
