Renaming Playlist bug in apple music + other issues

ive used apple music since the start never had an issues until I updated to sonoma. now my playlist won't rename, not will allow make new playlist, unless I close the app and restart and that is not all the time. sometimes even when closing app and restarting it it won't let me create new playlist or rename previous ones. also if and when it does let me make new playlist I add song to it everything seems to be working fine, I close the app and playlist are gone and if they are not gone or disappeared the songs I added don't show up..

THIS IS MAJOR BUMBER AND DISAPPOINTMENT..

I use my Apple Music with all my music in an external drive, and I use it to organize my Dj sets. Then I have my Dj program read my Apple Music list.. but I haven't been able to do this since apple music isn't working..

I also factory resented my m1 Mac 2022 and all issues for me remained the same.

I also have a MacBook Air, I will try and see if the issue on that Mac is the same. I’ll post an update.

both my are on Sonoma for now. My dj program is still not compatible with sequoia so I have to wait to update to it.

thanks for sharing the new info you came across

I'm still curious if we all have a shared 3rd party app that's causing the problem.

Here's a list of ALL my 3rd party apps. Please share if you have any of these on your own MacBook Pro.

VLC

Handbrake

Speedtest

Adblock Pro

Dropbox

xACT

Transmission

Audio Hijack

The Unarchiver

InVisible

Express VPN

Macs Fan Control (only on my older MacBook Pro, not my new one)

These are the ones I mostly have, and I have had the for the longest and never had an issue with iTunes/Apple Music until now. so its wither the M1 processing chips (not sure why that would be causing the issue or the code on the Apple Music app it self.) I can't think of anything else..

VLC

Speedtest

Dropbox

serato

platinum notes

carbon copy cloner

and a few others

Yeah my doesn’t work even with that work around, and also it doesn’t allow me to make new playlist. I have to restart the whole computer then it allows me like the first two times and stop working after that and showing all the issues once again right after..

thanks for sharing, you getting more than I’m getting from the app..

:(

Yeah...the troubles a lot of us have been having with playlists (and the Apple Music app as a whole) go beyond just the renaming of playlists (and folders).

Machine memory-retaining problems for many of us (the app acting like nothing has really been updated since days or weeks previous) ... changes not sticking with tracks, playlists, folders, and more ... icons acting crazy ... losing changes during restarts ... not syncing correctly with the iPhone ... etc. etc.

There's a lot more mess than just renaming.
