iOS18.0 Calendar App Won’t Allow Entry of Event Times Down to the Minute

After updating to iOS 18.0, the Apple Calendar app no longer will allow me to enter start/end times for events down to a specific minute (say 14:03 usin a 24 hr clock). Instead, after the upgrade to 18.0, the time thumb-wheel gui lets you tap on it to enter specific time but the when you start to type it collapses after allowing you to type only 1 number (which screws up the time value).

Are others seeing this behavior too?

Apple developers and beta testers should have caught this bug during beta testing. Hopefully, Apple software engineers will fix this bug in the next update or so.

I replaced my iPhone 14 Pro with a 16Pro on Monday (October 21).

Can’t add new events or change existing ones. Screen freezes every time. Have visited the Apple store where I bought the phone to show them the problem and spent hours on the phone to Apple Support. Both confirm that there is a fault and that this being “worked on”.

Help! I need a calendar that works!

What can I do? Is anyone else having the same problem? When will it be fixed?

I agree on starting with the 5-minute slider, makes it indeed faster for common appointments.

Just tap the slider for finetuning is perfect, but indeed without reset to midnight.

For me, on-minute appointments are important for example to public transport schedules… Especially now my new iPhone doesn’t allow other apps to add entries anymore…

You and I are in the same exact boat. My temporary fix is mapping my emails and calendars to the outlook application. No issues there except the calendar flow doesn’t work as designed on the Apple Watch. I created two calendar views on the control panel with the apple calendar and outlook calendar to reference.

I use my iPad to update my calendar whenever it decides to update. But I think Gmail accounts may be the issue. The associate the apple saw the immediate impact when I did that.

I have no idea how Apple missed something so major like this.
