Notes app is crashing after iOS 18 update on my iPhone

I usually use the Notes App to learn French on my iPhone 12 Pro.

After getting my iPhone 16 today, when I read the articles which I copied to the Notes app, it could not operated properly. I used the function "look up" for definition a lot, and it should not be a big deal. But now the Notes app on my iPhone 16, which runs iOS 18, crashes out every two times I "look up" the vocabularies.

Wish the next update will fix this problem.

I just notices how Note has degenerated on iOS 18. If I have my iPad connected to the Internet, Notes will not write tp the cloud - then write to the screen. That is like 1980s telnet. If I turn off Internet, then it is OK.

NOTE for EVERYONE. APPLE Does not pay attention to these forums. If you have a problem, call Apple Support, get a ticket, reference this list.

Otherwise the issues are never logged, never get to the product managers, never get to customer support.

I’ll get my ticket in this afternoon and share (sharing each other tickets is one way to building community support to get Apple to fix problems.).

It is really annoying and even waited until 18.1 update but not even that helped, İ guess İ dont use Notes anymore and will look for a more reliable app, incredible that apple is not doing something about it

iPhone 16 Pro. 18.0.1. Notes app is very slow, laggy, and freezes when actioning (i.e., opening, sending, etc.).

I had the same problem tonight when I decided to open the Notes app. There was a padlock icon on everything notes that I had, and it made it impossible to edit or write anything. I solved it by clicking on the unlock/lock that shows up on the menu at the upper right hamburger bar.

iPhone 14 pro updated to ios18

Mine has been unusable across all my devices, iPhone 15 Pro Max and new IPad 13. Started with iOS 18 and persists. I have tried all the same things others have tried, turning off sync, deleting all notes, deleting the app, turned off handoff, tried it in airplane mode. Tried small notes, tried new notes. No matter what, my notes apps will crash in a minute and a half or less. The has been a major blow to my work.

You may also want to let them know about the problems you're having with your keyboard being stuck on caps lock.

Still broken for me after the 18.01 update

13 seconds before it crashes on my Ipad Air 5th generation! (even without me touching it after opening) IOS 18.1. How can this have been missed in testing??????

Yes, I’m having issues with notes and my keyboard is lagging in general, but especially in Notes. Also it’s crashing more frequently after the 18 update. Also strange, notes that I’ve unpinned are repinning themselves, sometimes two to three times.

Yep. Updated yesterday and notes app freezes and won’t let me open any at all. Before the update, it worked without issue. I did the cloud thing and restarted my phone and still nothing. This new update is horrible. I also hate the way they changed the apple photos app. Terrible! Thanks a lot, Apple! 👎🏻

My Notes App On both iPad and iPhone have both frozen beginning 12/1/24. I have tried every fix I can think of but nothing is working. I use Notes in a daily basis and this is a huge problem for me.

Should not have to. This is a reinstalled program on iPhone and part of the iOS programming that updates with their update. They are responsible for it. I paid a lot of money for this devise. I expect it to work. I should not need any go around a.
