Macbook: iPhone vs Android for Hotspot

I have a 2020 MacBook running Sonoma 14.6.1. I am struggling with my iPhone 13 Promax and my iPhone 12 hotspots.

If I am at my son's using his Android hotspot, my MacBook connects on waking. No issues, no drop or disconnect. However when using my iPhone hotspots, the MacBook can't even see them 50% of the time, and I have to switch them off and on again before they show up in networks. Often, I can't be bothered. Then, after as much as an hour, I get the pop up asking if I want to connect to my iPhone hotspot. WHY won't it just connect straight away like it does with the Android?

Does anybody have any tricks or tips?
