Also Customize & Reorder, then move Utilities to the top of the list just below the photo library. (Favorites is at the top of the Utilities folder).
Or, from the Home screen, hold your finger on the Photos icon and choose Favorites from the floating menu that appears.

You may not have been blind-- some of these things are appearing only slowly as Photos scans and catalogs the pictures.
Then, of course, we all do go blind to things from time to time.

I cant find favorite while selecting photos to send in whatsapp, also no videos in media types in instagram
Mine wasn't there. I had to go in and add it in.
When I open WhatsApp and want to send a picture from my “Favourites” the album is now gone. The rest of albums is listed alphabetically but no favourites. This happens in Whatsapp only, apparently.
