How to recover deleted iMovie project

In relation to this post Recover iMovie Project From File - Apple Community

An iMovie project was accidentally deleted.

I tried navigating to Go/Home/Library/Containers/com.apple.iMovieApp/Data/Library/Caches/iMovieBackups

The problem is, my "home" doesn't have a folder called "Library."

If I search "This Mac" for "Library" I am taken to a folder that does not have a folder called "Containers."

I searched "This Mac" for "iMovieBackups" and nothing comes up.

Is something wrong with my system?

Or is there a new way to find these files now?

Also, once the project is found, how does one restore it back to the way it was in iMovie, with all the cuts and edits intact?

Thank you for any help anyone can offer.

Hi,

Click on Go/Home from the Finder menu. At the top of the Home screen, click on the little gear icon. A pop up menu will come up. Click on Show View Options.

When you click on Show View Options another pop up menu will come up. Check the box next to Show Library Folder at the very bottom of the menu and click the button that says Use as Defaults.

Now when you click on Go/Home you will see the Library folder listed. Click on Library and continue to follow the file path to the iMovie Backups folder.

If your operating system is before Catalina, follow this file path from the Finder menu:

Go/Home/Library/Containers/com.apple.iMovieApp/Data/Library/Caches/iMovieBackups

If running Ventura or later, in the above file path substitute iMovie for com.apple.iMovieApp.  So, for Ventura (and I think, Catalina), the file path would read:

 Go/Home/Library/Containers/iMovie/Data/Library/Caches/iMovieBackups

If one file path doesn't work, try the other.

When you get to the iMovie backups folder you will see a list of previous backups of your iMovie library.

Click on one dated just before your project was deleted.  iMovie will open in that library.   Navigate to your projects browser (where your projects are displayed as icons) and see if your deleted project is there.
