I have no idea why, but since this morning, all presentations I have opened have crashed when I press the tab key OR use the Indent tool to indent a text in the text box.
I have uninstalled the app and restarted the computer but that didn't help
Any thoughts?
This is a MAJOR problem and is a showstopper bug. It needs to be addressed IMMEDIATELY. Setting custom text in a presentation master is integral to presentation design -- and tabbing for indent level is unavoidable. Having it crash with every tab press is RIDICULOUS.
Thanks. A Sonoma upgrade did the trick. Now I wonder what the "upgrade" broke...
Unfortunately I have an iMac 2017 and it won't upgrade to Sonoma ...
I am having this exact issue now. I haven't figured out how to resolve it. Extremely frustrating.
The patch only works on macOS 13.0 or later.
All of us with older computers can no longer use Keynote without crashing.
I am furious.
I can't believe they haven't fixed this issue yet... I'm working on a presentation I'm about to give in one hour... Can't make any changes now that involve pressing the Tab key. Come on, guys! You can--and honestly, should--fix this!!
That they didn't test thoroughly. It looks as if they have the latest MacOS installed, and that's how they programmed and tested it.
Whatever it was, it broke during something else they (told me) they were working on.
Same issue on an Intel MacBook Pro which does not run Sonoma. Not sure how much love I feel getting from Apple with a piece of kit that did cost a fair amount of money at the time. But, for what it's worth, I have been able to fix it by clicking "update" on a specific "Bullets and Lists" format in the respective format section.

So is there any way to prevent keynote from crushing still using different text styles? I'm confused because it used to work fine.
I have the same problem but it's occurring on BODY text. Just checked to see if they've done anything about it and crickets....
The team told me to update to Sonoma.

The problem still exists. It is already a few months. My MacBook cannot be updated to the latest OS. Please fix this problem as soon as possible.
It's been fixed today. Version 14.1 is now on App Store.
They did, but not for us, with older computers. The patch only works with macOS 13 or later.
