I used disk utility to erase high Sierra
Now tried to reinstall. I erased again tried APFS (Encrypted) but still get "The recovery server could not be contacted"
iMac 21.5″, macOS 10.13
Encountered this not too long ago. I used another Mac to download the installer off of the Mac App Store and then created a bootable USB thumb drive. Used that to boot the other Mac that needs the OS installed.

Thank you for your help. I was finally able to download os Lion using recovery and now trying to update to High Sierra but Safari now can’t connect to the App Store or any web site?
I erased my HD on High Sierra and still get the message "The recovery server could not be contacted"
