Error when trying to install Jenkins using Homebrew in Terminal

Hi Community,

I'm trying to install Jenkins on my MacBook Pro 15" Mid 2015 running Mojave 10.14.6

When I run:

$ brew install jenkins-lts

I get the error:

Error: Running Homebrew as root is extremely dangerous and no longer supported.

As Homebrew does not drop privileges on installation you would be giving all

build scripts full access to your system.

I've seen some solutions suggesting

I have installed software before using brew so I dunno if something has changed in the last 6 months?

The current installation v4.2.2 of homebrew requires macOS Monterey 12.* or later. I don't know if they even provide support for older versions for macOS including Mojave. The macOS build of Jenkins-lts is maintained outside of the Jenkins project and that may restrict the level of help you would ordinarily receive from the Jenkins project for other platforms. The next rhetorical question is whether Jenkins is compatible with macOS Mojave?
