Quicken 2017 vanished on upgrading to Big Sur; what do I do now? How do I upgrade data file?

I was running Quicken 2017 on Mojave on a 2020 MacBook Pro... until the MBP crashed. I requested the Apple repair service to only update as far as Big Sur, not a newer OS, in fear Quicken 2017 wouldn't work, but it turns out when I loaded my previous data from backup, it vanished from my dock and applications list anyway. So I guess I'm now obligated to get the new subscription version of Quicken.

But what I really need to know is exactly how to retrieve my Quicken data, and how to ensure my Quicken data gets onto the new Quicken correctly. I want to make sure I do it right, since I was already deeply into year-end tax work and I don't relish the thought of reconstructing a year's worth of finances from scratch.

If you had been performing consistent Time Machine backups prior to the crash event and providing the Mac to Apple repair service, then your Quicken data would be preserved for restoration. If you neither backed up, or thought Apple would do that prior to wiping the Mac and installing Big Sur, then you are faced with your financial reconstruction dread as your old Quicken data is gone.

Oh I know the file is there somewhere, but it seems to be hidden. I had Quicken set to automatically run its own backup every time it was shut down. And a Time Machine backup was made within the past month. And a full disk image was made of everything prior to the wipe and reboot. So I theoretically should have not one but three possible places to find a relatively recent backup file.

Meanwhile Quicken says the newest subscription version isn't compatible with Big Sur and won't work until I upgrade to an even newer OS. And unlike Apple and older OS's, it appears NO versions of Quicken between 2017 and the newest are downloadable anywhere, unless someone here knows a trick I don't know. So I'm heading for Monterey first and we'll see where we go from there.
