I am still using Mojave 10.14.6. I would like to update my Safari Version 14.1.2 but there are so many options.
Also, does anyone know if I'll lose all my documents that are 32bit when doing so?
I'm not terribly techy so please explain as if I were an old lady

The last security update for Mojave became available a long while ago and if you have dutifully applied those, then you have the last version of Safari available for Mojave. Safari is not available as a separate download.
At this point in time, having waited so long to address your browser security, alternatives with current browser security now require macOS Catalina or later. That includes The Brave Browser, Google Chrome, and Firefox.
You can however, download Firefox ESR 115.5.0 for Mojave which still has current security protocols.

Right, Ive been concerned about all the work documents I am required to store for 2 years and, when about to update to Catalina (or earlier) several apps would require 64bit. I haven't a clue as to whether or not this is something I would have to repurchase or merely contact developer/company to remedy? At this point I've been trying to understand the process.
I've backed up my MacBook Pro (early 2015) and think I'm ready to give it a shot. Am I able to go from Mojave to Monterey?

MacOS Mojave was the last version of macOS that can run 32-bit and 64-bit applications. When you say you backed up your MacBook Pro, was that using Time Machine to an external hard drive?
Yes, you can go directly from Mojave to Monterey. I also suggest that beforehand, you run the free Go64 application that informs what 32-bit application dependencies may exist on Mojave at this time and some of that data you are required to store may also be dependent on a specific 32-bit application if no 64-bit version is available from that vendor site. If there are 32-bit applications that you must continue to use, then you will be stuck on Mojave as macOS Monterey does not support 32-bit applications.
Adobe CS? suite and Microsoft Office 2008/2011 have 32-bit dependencies. So does Apple's iWork '08/'09 suites, and iPhoto.
Something else to consider is if your printer/scanner is an older model, if the vendor still provides drivers for macOS Monterey, or if the printer (or MFC) is supported by Apple's AirPrint technology as either a wired or wireless device. If supported by AirPrint, no vendor drivers would be necessary. If the vendor does not provide Monterey compatible drivers, and you are not keen on new printer/scanner purchases, then again, you are stuck on Mojave.
If you have made it this far without 32-bit dependencies, then you can download the full macOS Monterey installer from the Mac App Store (using the Safari browser) via How to download and install macOS - Apple Support and it will place the Monterey installer app in your /Applications folder. I would eject your Mojave Time Machine drive before the upgrade, and ideally, you should use a new Time Machine hard drive (formatted as APFS) for Monterey backups.

Yes, I think that's what I do. I use WD Passport external drive, port into Mac then System Preferences opens showing Time Machine and begins back up

Some are old programs that I really need to uninstall but the Microsoft bouhgt in 2021, I would have to repurchase to enable 64bit once Mac is updated? Should I cry now?!?

Lovely, it is. Was actually trying to update it too but the message received was I need to update my mac system that the current version will not support the new updates
Forgive, not entirely sure about using AirPrint- I can print from my cell though, is that helpful info? Yet, of I need to be able to print from my Mac....

Believe it or not, I've had it downloaded since it became available. Just haven't installed because I was afraid to lose everything and I really don't trust Geek Squad or independent techs, I feel safe here, especially with your patience. Clearly you are my saving grace.
Ok, right! So when I must sacrifice some things to update working system I will have to buy a new external drive.

Why doesn't Apple make a convertion program for 32bit to 64bit things for us non-techy folk?
Perhaps by not doing this, they may continue charging for 'new updated' products.
