Keynote 13.1, I want to do individual voice-overs per slide yet have the Keynote run automatically

I'm new to Keynote. I'm working on a PPT given to me to add a specific voice-over per slide.

Is there a way to control the timing of slides relative to that VO but still have the presentation run automatically to the end, like a video? (It's going on YouTube.)

I need to record a unique voice-over per slide so that, upon presentation, the length of the VO will determine the length of time the slide is viewed, changing automatically to the next slide with its unique VO until the end of the presentation.

It's a longish presentation so I want to be able to start/stop recording my VO on one slide, move to the next slide, hit record, stop, move to the next slide, etc. I can't do this in one single take b/c the presentation is somewhat long and I'll never get through it w/o making a mistake. :(

Thanks!

In discussions with Apple Support, we discovered there is no way to adjust the length of a slide to coincide with the length of the audio track, at least with a PowerPoint opened in Keynote.

Also, some images used in the original PowerPoint had their aspect ratios distorted when opened in Keynote.

However, if you create your slideshow from scratch in Keynote, the following article shows how to successfully add an audio track on a slide-by-slide basis, although I have not personally tried this:
