Occasional gray screen on my Iphone 15 Pro.

Occasional, my Iphone 15 pro screen will just fade to gray for no reason and then restore back to the original after a second or two. I have no clue why this happens or if it’s because some setting is turned on that I’m not aware about. I’ve realized that it occurs when something bright is being shown or flashed on the screen. It’s not frequent but it can happen consecutively at times and I don’t know how to fix it. Can anyone help?

iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 17

Yeah I ended up finding out what the problem was. I found out it was related to like flashing lights and it would dim the screen whenever there was a flash of light. You can check it out on your phone by going to Accessibility and then to Motion and seeing if “dim flashing lights” is on or not. Hope this helps you.

Troubleshooting a Fading Screen:

Perhaps this is a Faulty Device?

This is a hardware failure. It is time for a new screen. How old is this Mac? Do you have AppleCare+ with this? IF less than one year, then note that you have a one-year, out-of-the-box, limited warranty with this. So, contact Apple Support, seeing if you can get the screen replaced.

Apple Support Contact Us Info:

  • Contact Us - Choose Locations
  • Proceed from there, as necessary
  • Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through :)
