my iPhone X is stuck in recovery mode with error 4013. what can I do?

My iPhone X which I have now passed on to my son is in rover mode. When zi try to recover/restore it with my MacBook, it comes up with error 4013 and can't be restored. what can I do?

If you see error 9, 4005, 4013, or 4014 when you restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
