iPhone 15 Pro Max Camera Blurry and Out of Focus

I got the same issue. Despite the photo looks really great before capturing it, it looks really bad once capturing, comparing with before.

This is so disappointed, you supposed to get a better quality as you own the best iphone till now.

Grainy photos look like we capture on some 10-20k phones. please someone tell me , is this software issue or we got defective phones??? Please anyone answer me , I hardly manage money for this phone just for camera and this happened with me😭😭😭

i quit writing comments and complaning about the problem because Nothing changed. Everybody can see the difference of the camera!! and guess what happened? I CANT USE MY BRAND NEW IPHONE AND LEAVE IT. I couldt refund or sell it. Thank you Apple. Please give some details. I still hope it will be fixed with an IOS update. I wish to capture selfies like the old ona taken with 12-13 pro series

Update: Genius Bar ran tests on my iPhone 15 Pro, everything was apparently working fine according to their system. I got a replacement anyway as I was within my 14 day period. However, same issue.

I’m also disappointed with my new iPhone 15 pro max camera. My iPod touch that I bought in 2014 and my iPhone 7 Plus took better pictures, sharper and clearer pictures, that is why I immediately noticed the difference. I noticed some smudges on my pictures taken by iPhone 15 Pro Max which are not seen in my photos taken from my old iPhone and iPod. If not because old phones are gonna get obsolete, I wouldn’t have upgraded to the new model.

Apple's warranty on hardware is one year, not 90 days. And, you generally only have 60 days from the date of purchase to add Apple Care. So you may already be out of luck if you haven't already purchased it.

Also, a phone is not, in the generally understood sense, an investment. It will never appreciate in value.

My camera WAS wonderful but then I don't know what happened. The only one that is hazy for me is when I switch into Pro RES and when I do that everything gets gray and fuzzy.

It also struggles to focus when it is Super zoomed in on something close. I am far from a professional photographer however in this may be common with the presets or settings I use.

The same cannot be said for my struggles with Pro RES however. That lovely issue is brand spanking new

Just adding my +1. I am not a pro but I’m a very enthusiastic camera phone photographer and uses my 13 Pro a huge amount for amazing photos. People that still have a 13 are taking photos (of my newborn - one reason for “upgrading” my phone) that make mine look terrible and I’ve just spent £1000 on a 15 pro. Really frustrating and considering returning it and downgrading.

Do not upgrade if you are in a similar category to me is my advice!

I’m really disappointed in my 15 pro max…the picture quality is not bad but it is definitely worse then my 14 pro max and even my 13 pro max in some cases…I don’t know why this is the case…and I can understand the telefoto has some issues in lower light situations; but shooting pictures of my kids; they are blurry, their hair is grainy and, most importantly, they are out of focus.

sure…the 14pm sometimes made out of focus pictures but that was usually when the subject was moving or I was moving…most of the times fotos where hairsharp, vivid and amazing for a phone…the 15 pm is just disappointing…I really regret upgrading. Never had that before…

Horrible camera or photos on iPhone 15 Pro Max. Post processing ruins the photo. It looks good in the viewfinder. My iPhone 14 Pro Max was better that I traded for this expensive garbage phone that Apple marketed for having excellent camera quality. Apple should fix this or recall the devices.

Me too, I thought I was going crazy! When aiming and setting up to take the photo it looks impeccable but once you take the photo it goes grainy and blurry!

got my phone upgraded today from a 12 pro to a 15 pro thinking the pictures were going to be insane quality (which is the main purpose of my phone taking pictures of my son) but nope they are pants! Going to return and see if by downgrading I’ll get a better picture quality! NEVER THOUGHT I’d see the day a downgrade would be a better option, highly disappointed!

so clearly you can see, first photo was taken before the capture, second one is after captured and proceed. Will there be an update to fix this? Everybody is worried about it but waiting gently. If not this will cause a very huge problem in the future for apple.

Same here, I recently traded in my iphone 11 pro max to Iphone 15 Pro Max and im extremely disappointed to see that the camera is not good for selfies. My iphone 11 was way better quality and resolution. Does anyone have a formal response from Apple about this?

Yes, if I type the f in portrait mode it works. But it’s in regular photo mode that I get horrible photos so I had hoped to find the f there and see if it changed anything. Whether macro is on or off (it was on) I can’t see an f in photo mode. Maybe it just doesn’t work outside the portrait mode since it’s meant for depth of field?
