Can’t Use Trackpad to Select an App in iPad App Switcher

I have a 10.9” 2022 iPad, and I recently picked up a Logitech Combo Touch Folio, in my continuing desire to slim down my mobile computing experience.

It generally works well and, while it’s certainly not my custom mechanical keyboard, it is a decent enough typing experience, but I have noticed one little… quirk.

All of the trackpad gestures work well, but when I swipe up with three fingers to open the app switcher, I can’t use the trackpad to select an app. I have to lift my hand from the keyboard and tap the screen. Is this normal behavior? To be clear, I can still switch apps from the dock using the trackpad, I just find the gesture and physical presentation of the app switcher to be a bit more intuitive to implement.

Is this a limitation on all trackpads, or maybe just my model?

Any answers appreciated :)
