All products are updated, it is set to sync entire library, all songs are fully downloaded & available on pc & iTunes, still going through much troubleshooting, no help so far
On the songs(s), right click, go to "song info" and you can add from there in the comments box. What you add is irrelevant, anything that forces the metadata of the song to change seems to work.
Effectively, it seems that changing the metadata of the problematic songs, then changing it back, fixes it. For me at least.
I tried what ReallyCrazyDad suggested and it still didnt work fully. I tried syncing again and the previous songs that were synced disappeared. But we all should not have to use these tweaks and tricks just to upload the d@mn music. So frustrating this
Having same issue….went to play some new music and it won’t play, but some other stuff will play! When I sync it seems to re sync like the same 785 songs, but should already be on there! I have like 10k songs and don’t want to go thru everything again
I have no idea why they don't give you a way to at least tell which tracks failed to sync between your computer and the iphone in iTunes. I synced roughly 4000 songs. I'd like to be able to know which ones won't play, since there's always files that don't sync correctly and you only find out when it gets skipped on the phone's player.
So a rational way to solve that issue since it's impossible to get them all to sync correctly is to remove or try to resync the faulty ones. But iTunes gives you absolutely no way to know which, you are left totally in the dark.

I'm facing the same issue. I have some non-Apple music that I downloaded elsewhere. Now certain ones don't sync to my phone, not even if I delete and start again. My phone is set to sync the entire library.

Not offhand. It is complicated somewhat by the fact the syncing duties are part of Finder rather than Music. There may some options in the sync dialog somewhere but I use the Apple Music service to update my devices so I'm not overly familiar with the interface.

Unfortunately I had 9000 odd random songs/albums...it was easier therefore to change all songs.
