Do you use an AirPod along with a hearing aid?

I have Single-sided hearing loss for which I use a single hearing aid. I would like to be able to use a airPod as well for the other ear for a more rich listening experience. Unfortunately, I cannot select two different Bluetooth devices to accommodate this need. Does anyone have a workaround? It seems like Apple has done great work with integrating the hearing aids and iOS devices. It seems like this is something they would work on. Thanks in advance.
