Send them the largest (pixel dimension) version of the image you have. DPI depends on the size the iage4 is going to be printed or presented. The larger the print the smaller the DPI.

A photo file has no “DPI”. A DPI calculation is only relevant when you print the file. The pixel size will be available while viewing in the photos App. An example of the Pixel size for an iPad photo is shown below.
DPI is a function of the size of the print. An 8 x 10 photo will have a smaller DPI than a 4 x 6 photo from the same image file. It's explained more in this article: The Myth of DPI.
The A2 is 16.5 in x 23.4 in or 4950 pixels x 7020 pixels. You'r iPhone's best of 6048 x 8064 pixels should more that meet that requirement.
Could you tell us what size photo you are hoping to print? And, what the pixel dimension are for the photo?
You are quite welcome.
To calculate the DPI for a printed photo is quite easy. If you are wanting to print a photo of 8" X 10" and the print service request 300 DPI, the photo file you would need to send would be a minimum of 2400 Pixels X 3000 Pixels. Similarly if you wanted a 5" X 7" photo printed the required pixel dimensions would be a minimum 1500 Pixels X 2100 Pixels.
Oh dear, assuming the 254 represents pixel dimensions, that would not be suitable for much more than a locket sized photo, possibly a grainy print at 2" square (5cm square).
Sorry I don't understand how to know if my picture is okay, 300 dpi what they ask, I'm not so known with inches ... more cm. Well I could just give it a try see if it is accepted ... it's about a selfie, a square picture.
I need to upload the picture ... and well, I cropped the picture to just get my face ... so probably not good enough ... the size is now 254x254 - 446kb .. a friend took the picture with her phone ... more info I don't have ...
Hi Stedman1, hoping you are still watching this chat... My wife has been asked for a portrait photo by her old college for an exhibition they are running. They said a standard iPhone photo taken in daylight should be OK but they have also said it needs to be 300 DPI for printing purposes. Assuming that the final image will be A2, it looks like that would require a pixelation of 7016 x 9933, but the best I can get from my iPhone 15 is 6048 x 8064 (that's using the main camera at 48MP in photo mode at x1 resolution). Is there any way of increasing the pixels to the level required using a normal iPhone?
An A2 print is quite large, meaning it would most likely be viewed from a distance. This being the case, the rule of thumb of using 300 DPI as the desired print resolution could certainly be lowered. I would be comfortable using a print resolution of 200 DPI for a print of that size, meaning a pixel resolution of 3200 X 4800 should be adequate.
Thank you, I will look. I have to upload the picture on another website and they want a minimum of 300 dpi. Which I don't know ...
haha, I thought so ... but well guess I need to make another selfie, too bad, I liked the photo ... thanks for your help Stedman1!
You are quite welcome.
