Hearing aids for 2 people on one account

My spouse and I share one iCloud acct. and have just gotten hearing aids. Cannot connect to 2 separate apps.

Multiple MiFi Hearing aids and iPhones on one Apple ID My spouse and I both have iPhone SE3G phones running iOS 15.4.1. We share a single Apple ID. We both have MiFi hearing aids, mine are Resound her's are Oticon. If her hearing aids are connected with her phone mine will not connect to my phone and vice versa. If her's are connected and mine are turned off my phone shows that my hearing aids are connected to her phone. If I do the Forget This Device and re-pair my devices with my phone her devices cease connection to her phone. This seems to be associated with Audio Handoff or Control Nearby Devices. I've tried disabling both settings in both phones with no luck. What am I missing?

Stop sharing an account. They are not meant to be shared. Doing so will lead to no end of problems.
