iOS Guided Access fails when resumed (with workaround)

I'm using an iPhone XS Max running iOS 16.5.1

Beware of an issue with the "Guided Access" accessibility feature. It seems to work properly when it is first set up (a user defined mask disables a portion of the screen for a particular app). However, if you end Guided Access without deleting the mask and then subsequently resume Guided Access, the feature no longer works even though the configured mask is still displayed (transparent grey overlay).

The work-around is to delete the mask each time before ending the feature and then re-creating when next required.

BTW, you may also want to consider turning off the "Motion" slider available as a Guided Access option.

I used the QuickTIme screen recording feature to illustrate the problem: Guided Access Issue (access via publicly accessible iCloud Shared library).
