Some context may help us help you.
What exactly are you doing and where when you get this? Starting a batch? What settings are selected? Compressing some movie files or sending some FCP project?
Some screenshots may help.
Thanks! Of course...
Because I've been using Compressor for years, I have prepared many settings.
In this case I've added a video (mp4, 854x480, 673kb/s)
and added one of my settings which should just reduce the data rate to 300kb/s. So just one job, but then I got that error message...
I tried some other conversions, but it seems that I always get this error now.
Well, just like with Motion and Final Cut Pro, sometimes with Compressor the preferences may get corrupted.
This can cause weird behavior.
You can try deleting the preferences: hold down Command and Option keys while starting Compressor, and in the dialog that appears, click Delete Preferences. It will take a bit longer to start. Your custom settings are not affected by this, but the application preferences will need to be readjusted.
So, Full Disk Access is OK.
Is there anything else I could try?
(Maybe delete the app & reinstall?
Would my custom settings be lost in that process?
I also have some of them added to FCP for exports.)
Thanks.
It wasn't necessary to reinstall the app, because after restarting my Mac, Compressor worked again!
Thank you! I did it, retried, but it's still the same error. Hmm...
Does Compressor have Full Disk Access in System Settings->Privacy & Security?
> Full Disk Access
When it worked (some weeks ago), it had, and it still has.
Your custom Compressor settings will not be lost if you delete the application.
They are saved in ~/Library/Application Support/Compressor/Settings
