Apple TV+ So Difficult To Watch On My Samsung TV

Hi. I can’t seem to watch the Apple TV app on my Samsung smart Tv. It constantly freezes and then goes to a “Video Unavailable” screen.

This isn’t a problem with the internet or Tv, I have no problem watching other apps like Netflix on it.

I can’t seem to be able to delete and reinstall the app, but I’ve tried to reset it with no luck.

I saw this was a question posted earlier in this community but couldn't find any answers that helped.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Same here. This has been going on over a week now, as well. The Apple TV+ app on my iPhone plays perfectly. Every other app on my Samsung smart TV plays perfectly. But Apple TV+ will not play on my Samsung smart TV for some reason. Has anyone found a fix for this?

Is there an issue with the my Apple TV box working correctly with my Samsung tv? About 2 weeks ago apple box and Samsung just quit pairing and playing nice with each other after using being paired and working well since I got it. It quit working with my NAD receiver as well? I moved it to a LG TV in bedroom and it was plug and play including setting up remote etc. Just curious if this at the we don't want to support your software/hardware corporate game now?

I have an AppleTv smart TV and have been totally unable to use it because it does the exact same thing, takes FOREVER to start up, then a good half hour, finally I'm able to click on what to watch, it buffers for like 10 minutes. So it finally gets going and just as it gets off the ground, it punks out and buffers again forever or shuts down completely. So it's sitting unused in my art studio room and has been (unused) for the oast 2 years. I have no idea how to work it.

These problems are generally associated with having not enough bandwidth where the TV is located. Please do not confuse signal speed with bandwidth, two totally different concepts. Please use a tool such as iStumbler to measure your internets signal strength (bandwidth) where the TV is located and in other parts of your home. If you live in a multi story home or a home that is over 1000-1500 sq. ft. then there is a good chance you may need a network upgrade to. upgrade the signals bandwidth throughout your home.

Also, it is wise to ensure the TV has up-to-date firmware and you have also done basics such as unplugging the TV from it's power source for 2-3 minutes and re-booting, also doing the same power reset on your modem and router (yes even if everything's else is working okay) . Finally, please don't assume it's an Apple issue until you have done some basic troubleshooting!!

I think it is evident this is not an Apple problem, however the Apple forums are where people seek solutions and the Samsung forums are scant on discussion of this Tizen OS bug.

It is not a bandwidth issue as standalone Apple TV does not freeze, and all other Samsung apps for Prime, Netflix have no issues. AppleTv on Samsung also plays seamlessly for weeks until it freezes, and then won’t play until system reset. It also is unlikely to be firmware updates needed as the bug has been reported for years. Samsung diagnostics label everything OK.

So maybe the key to tracing the cause is why this blanket freeze occurs every couple of weeks and afflicts every stream on the platform but not the intro graphics, and sometimes stalls midway through an episode.

"This isn’t a problem with the internet or Tv, I have no problem watching other apps like Netflix on it. "

This is a NONSENSE statement, and is like saying "I never go to the doctor for a check and I feel fine therefore I don't have a bad heart and 10 minutes later you drop dead from a heart attack." No check out doesn't equal no problem, it simply means acting like an ostrich and sticking one's head in a hole to avoid an issue.

One needs to test their Internet bandwidth inside their home to make a claim like that, otherwise the statement is 100% nonsense. There are software tools available to do this such as iStumbler.
