Phillips Hue Hub and Power Outage.

We just had a power outage and since then, all my Phillips hue bulbs show no response. I am using an iPhone 14 Pro with iOS 16.3 , and the hub and bulbs are up to date. After the outage, the hub is working fine with the hue app, but everything shows no response in the home app. I tried resetting the Hue hub, but that did not work. Not sure where to go from here.

Thanks for reaching out to the Apple Support Communities. To get started, when you say that the hub is working fine in the Hue app, are you able to see that your accessories are powered on and control them as expected?


If so, and if Bluetooth is enabled on your iPhone, we'd recommend restarting both your Wi-Fi router and modem (if separate). This can help with resetting the connection between your iPhone and the accessories and may be able to help with resolving the issue.


If still having issues after restarting your modem and router, the next best option would be to remove the accessories from the Home app, and set them up again; however, this may require you to restore the accessories to factory settings. If that's the case, you may need to reach out the Hue's support, visit their website, or check the Phillips Hue Bulbs manual for help with these steps.

It did not get to be this complicated fortunately. I restarted the Apple TV that is serving as a hub in my system and that seemed to correct the problem. I am still having some issues, especially with automations running, but that seems mainly due to the Home app and Phillips hue not playing well together. The whole Homekit thing really needs fixing, as does iOS16. They really messed up with this release.
