How do I disable "tapable" formatting of dates in the Notes app?

I use the Notes app on my ipad for handwriting of all kinds. The app automatically underlines things it thinks are dates or addresses etc. to encourage me to add them to my calendar/contacts. However, I frequently get these automatic highlights under things that have nothing at all to do with this, such as mathematical equations. The underlining feature is much more distracting than it is useful in my case. How do I turn it off?

Hello bbdt,

Let's start off by checking the helpful steps in this article which can help with this issue: Siri Suggestions on iPad. Follow this guidance to turn that off for Notes:

"Turn Siri Suggestions on or off for an app

Siri Suggestions are on by default for your apps. You can turn them off or change the settings at any time.

      1. Go to Settings > Siri & Search, then select an app.
      2. Turn settings on or off."

Let us know if we can help with anything else at all or if this doesn't settle your issue so we can look into this further with you. Thanks and have a fabulous day!

Unfortunately, this did not change the behavior.

First image below: My current settings for Siri for the Notes app after following your instructions.

Second image: The underlines here are being automatically generated even with these settings selected. Siri apparently thinks these are addresses, and the Maps app comes up when I tap nearby.
