How do I permanently unlock this m1 iPad Pro

I would like to permanently unlock this M1 iPad Pro I live alone in a secure location, and I do not need passwords or unlock codes it also fails to sometimes read my face now that I have trimmed my beard and what id left of my hair to one half inch [12mm]

i have tried without success to get my iphone 14 pro to work when i have supposedly trained it to see me wearing M95 covid face masks. It does work a bit better at general face recognition than the M1 iPad Pro i am typing this on but since it is with me when i go to doctors and therapists

i am in my mid 70 and i no longer need the additional security on recovering from a “minor stroke’ incident even my 24” M1 iMac running macOS Ventura 13.0.1 it wants my my Apple ID and password every time i buy an app even though it read my finger print at boot up.

Completely removing your Passcode from you iPad is ill-advised - as this will completely disable a number of advanced functions such as your Keychain (the contains all your saved passwords etc.). You can, however, disable the auto-lock function - while keeping the Passcode intact. With auto-lock disabled, you’ll only be prompted for your Passcode if you manually lock the iPad - or after a restart.

Settings > Display & Brightness > Auto-Lock - set to Never

If you really wish to completely disable the iPad Passcode (not recommended - as described above, you’ll disable key functionality), you can completely remove the Passcode:

Settings > TouchID|TouchID & Passcode > Turn Passcode Off

Thank you for the rapid response to my question. I do not want to disable or down grade in any way the security features on my iPhone 14 pro as it it with me when I leave my home [but my home is very secure].

  • however on this iPad Pro [and on the 24” iMac] the security does not work the way I think it should { yes I know} it should at most, want my password just once per session after wake-up and that pseudo randomly. What key functionality you allude to would turning passcode off disable?

The iPad Pro also has a very good user facing camera so the users face should be good enough almost all the time. This support exchange is done on my end just with and the face perhaps backed up with “my voice is my password” dictation.

is there a way to do that?

cheers

I start the iMac and it authenticates my fingerprint and most of the time it still wants my password [in the App Store it wants it every time even when I get a {free} app it should take my password once and everything I do after that should at most take my fingerprint again
