Troubleshooting a Locked iPhone:

Hold it Right There!

Being Locked Out...

Enter the passcode incorrectly too many times, and you'd likely be locked out for good. So, hold it right there, and refer to this link: If you Forgot the Passcode on your iPhone, or your iPhone is Disabled - Apple Support. It would be the one you've always entered. If you do not know it, then look for it in a location you may have stored it in.

  • Why the Wait: Phone calls are taking a bit to go through at the moment, due to lots of calls. With the Coronavirus Pandemic, many are at home at the moment, with much time on their hands to contact Apple. So, just stay on the line, and you will get through

Appears that you forgot the passcode for your phone. Now, you must wait until you have used up all of your log on attempts before you will be able to to erase / reset the phone and set it up again.

The way to avoid this would be to remember the passcode, if possible.

f your iPhone is running iOS 15.2 or higher........you can use the instructions linked just below:

How to reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when you forgot your passcode - Apple Support

If your iPhone is not running iOS 15.2 or higher........please use the instructions linked below, but note that you must use a PC or Mac.

If you have a backup of the phone, you can use the backup to restore the data on the phone during the new setup. It might be a good idea to write down the new passcode even though you are sure that you will never forget it.
