I use my MacBook to connect to the projector for teaching. I updated to Ventura and now the HDMI is no longer detected. After a tiny bit of research, I saw that this has been a problem since beta. I wasn't able to use my Keynote for the any of the lessons today. Absolute failure. Does anyone know what the issue is? Is there a fix? It's always been plug and play until this morning. MacBook Pro 14-inch with M1 Pro

USB-C to HDMI adapters are notroriously underpowered in many instances.
If you have a USB-C power adapter, then power the USB-C hub using the computer's own power. If your hub does not have a USB-C passthrough port, be sure to get one with 100W pass through. The company I worked with that had 600 Macs depended on these adapters for reliability.

Do not buy HDMI cables from Insignia, as they are not designed to spec. Belkin cables are typically a lot better.

This is definitely a software issue. I have the Thunderbolt to HDMI official Apple dongle which isn't being recognized AND the HDMI port itself isn't being recognized. This is only after updating to Ventura.

Get a replacement. I've had adapters fail in less time than that.
