So my iPhone 13 got run over by a car and had to resort to using an iPhone Xr. It is on the latest update, however it won’t receive the calls or verification text by WhatsApp (I can call and text everyone in my contacts). I was wondering if it’s because I have 2 iPhones on my iCloud account and this isn’t the trusted device. Can anyone help please?

If you have two iphones on your account they are by definition trusted.

Whatsapp only works on your phone number. To get your Whatsapp account on the other phone you need to transfer your SIM and phone number to the other phone.

After putting your SIM (or eSIM) in there do

Set up imessage and facetime after change of number.

Settings, Messages, Turn off iMessage

Settings, Face Time, Turn off Face Time

Restart the phone.

Settings, Messages, Turn on iMessage, SMS, MMS

Settings, Messages, send & Receive, select your number which should now be there.

Settings, Face Time, Turn on Face Time

Then install Whatsapp and it should set up
